38 Weeks, Day 3: cervix opening

yesterday was my 38th week gynae appointment and was asked for consent whether or not i want my cervix to be checked. i consented and went ahead because i wanted to know if i am progressing. got to know i am starting to open up at about 1/2cm. my husband, mum and also my sister encouraged me get active, have walks, exercise or even dance wherever possible. any experience mums knows how fast i can dilate and that i am 1/2cm? any possibilities of being 1cm already when i got active yesterday as well? - walking and dancing. thank you! 🫶🏻 #firsttimemom

It depends on individual esp for first child. Might be fast, might be slow. My first child at 40 weeks 3cm dilate and last for a week with no waterbag burst. Ended with induce. Same with second child however no induce needed. You should do yoga ball, squat, walk up down stairs, dancing, etc to help in the dilation and birth process fast
