For a female doctor, I'd suggest asking the admin staff when you call which ones are available in the private wing and whether they're taking new patients - that way you can request her during the switch. A few of my friends went private at KKH and they said the continuity of care is really good since it's the same hospital, and you get to see the same doctor most visits which makes a difference.
