You'll need to call KKH admin directly to switch your subsidy class - they handle it pretty smoothly, just a form and payment arrangement. As for timing, honestly most mums switch anytime before the third trimester so there's no rush, though earlier is easier since your notes transfer over without hassle. For a female doctor, I'd suggest asking the admin staff when you call which ones are available in the private wing and whether they're taking new patients - that way you can request her during the switch. A few of my friends went private at KKH and they said the continuity of care is really good since it's the same hospital, and you get to see the same doctor most visits which makes a difference.

You can switch anytime actually 😊 Since you’re only 10 weeks, still a pretty good time to move from subsidised to private if you already know you want a specific doctor. If considering NUH, some female doctors moms usually recommend are Dr Sarah Li, Dr Anita Kale, and Dr Nau’shil Kaur Randhawa. I think you just need to call the Women’s Clinic and tell them you want to transfer to private care under a chosen gynae. Better to do earlier though because some doctors’ slots can get quite full. Not 100% sure, but I’ve heard switching back to subsidised later on can be more complicated or admin-heavy, so maybe clarify with NUH first before making the move 😊
