NIPT, what’s next?

Just wondering, after doing these genetic screenings, what if the results show that there’s a genetic defect. What’s the next step and options? #testing

If there’s a genetic alteration, usually the next step is to be very sure using an invasive test such as amniocentesis or CVS. Then after that, the options are to decide whether to keep the child, and bring up a child with a genetic alteration, or to terminate the pregnancy. The doctor will be able to walk you through each of these options.
