Eating Healthy
Hi! Wonder what you all eat to give nutrition to baby? I don’t know how to cook so only can order. 😞
Hello, you can always remember to have a balanced meal. A variety of vegetables, protein (eggs, chicken, tofu, meats), carbs (rice, noodles. Occasionally go for brown rice or wheat products) at every meal. Fish is good for baby. So try to have fish in your meals but dont choose those with high mercury levels like pomfret, mackerel etc. When eating meats, you can swop around. Beef is rich is iron so do include if you can take beef. But dont have to eat everyday. Do you drink milk? Good to drink milk daily cause that will provide your baby with calcium. If you take cheese, go for hard cheeses (sliced cheese, mozzarella, parmesan). Soft cheeses (like brie) are not good for pregnancy. For carbs, wholemeal breads and brown rice are of course healthier choices. But it’s okay to mix with your white rice and noodles etc. I follow the rule of moderation. I eat normally and follow my cravings when I have them. But never overeat one item. I have diabetes before pregnancy, so I dont take sugary drinks. Now that I am pregnant, I still drink coke zero but only once a wk because there is caffeine. You can take one cup of coffee a day still if you want to. I don’t because with diabetes, i am considered high risk, so I try to avoid since I don’t crave for coffee.
