Sometimes I wish human gestational period don't have to be 9 months...

Why can't normal pregnancy period be shorter? DX I feel like I've been pregnant forever, but its only 6 months... still got 3 months... I dont want my baby to be premie (I want it to be full term) but I wish I could deliver soon... sigh...
