Personally I don't think it is the matter of whether which pump yields more milk. Firstly, I think it is important for u to be comfortable with the pump, meaning u don pump till u are bleeding and in pain kind. Secondly, my question is, are u drinking n eating enough to get more yield. I m using manual avent pump and despite what others say, I am v comfortable with the equipment and it gave me more yield than what my boy was drinking. Hence, I feel that it might not be the pump but whether you are consuming enough to generate your supply.
I used Pigeon, Medela freestyle before. Currently Spectra S2. Amongst these 3, Spectra gives me a better yield. It is able to empty my breasts. However, many factors do contribute to whether yield will be good. The food you consume, sufficient liquid intake, sufficient rest and also whether the flange size is correct. Also whether you are comfortable with the pump that you are using. The best pump is still our own child=)
For me, the correct flange size helps me yield the best milk. I use spectra flanges with my philips avent pump as the default 28mm is too large for me. I got them off shopee https://shopee.sg/product/242594539/7732031072?smtt=0.0.9
The newest spectra is able to customize the vacuum suction speed for each breast. Wish I could have that!
Hospital grade pump will helps. But getting the correct flange size and diet plays a part too.
S1! But I think its subject to individual.
