When is the right time to go for my first visit to the gynecologist?

I think 8 weeks is the correct time because I went there when I was 6 weeks and the Dr told me that he can't detect the heart bit of my baby I must come back when I'm 8 w I was so worried I went back to him when I was 10 w and everything was fine
