Hi Wani! VBAC (Vaginal Birth After C-Section) is absolutely possible and more mummies are opting for it than you might think. I haven't personally gone through VBAC but wanted to share what is generally known to help. The most important factor is why your first C-section happened. If it was due to a non-recurring reason like baby being in breech position, placenta previa, or foetal distress that was specific to that pregnancy, your chances of a successful VBAC are generally considered quite good. If it was due to a recurring reason like a pelvis that is too narrow for baby to pass through, the conversation with your doctor would be different. Most doctors in Singapore will consider VBAC if there has been at least 18 to 24 months between your C-section and the next delivery, your uterine scar is healing well, and you have had only one previous C-section with a low transverse incision (the standard horizontal cut). The main risk that doctors monitor closely is uterine rupture at the scar site during labour, which is rare but serious. This is why VBAC needs to be done in a hospital setting with continuous foetal monitoring throughout labour. Finding a VBAC-supportive gynae is really key. Not all doctors in Singapore are comfortable with it, so it is worth asking explicitly during your first consultation whether they support VBAC and what their personal success rates and protocols are. Would love for any mummies here who have successfully done VBAC to share their experience with Wani. It really helps to hear from those who have been through it firsthand! 🤍

No, i had c-sect for my first and likewise for my 2nd. Why you want to change the method of delivery?
