Holding others baby

What's wrong carrying over other's baby from a guy? My husband said common sense it's inappropriate for me to do that. Really?

I mean of the parent is okay with it, I don’t see any problem. The best thing would be to just ask for permission. Or try to gauge how they’d feel about it.
