Always use a reliable thermometer to measure the temperature. If your baby's temperature is above 37.5 degrees Celsius, it is advisable to visit a doctor before you administer any oral medication. You can also get the baby fever patch in your first aid box & use it when your baby temperature is very high & you are unable to reach a doctor promptly. Always check the baby temperature every 4-6hours before you feed medication. Lastly dress your baby in loose & comfortable clothings & let them rest. A point to note that you should never feed a baby before 6months old any water. However, you need to ensure they remain hydrated with breastmilk or formula milk so that their fever will go away soon
When my baby gets fever... My mum will always ask me to boil hard boiled egg and rub it on baby's front chest and back chest (most important) and also body. To only do it without any fan blowing at baby, or in a closed room without much wind. This is because to let baby perspire. Alternatively, keep sponging baby. Don't forget about the armpits and inner tights. These 2 areas are where heat always trap, once these areas are cooler temperature will also be brought down. Alternatively, if possible you can also soak baby in a tub of water and slowly add ice into the tub. This helps a lot, and brings down the temperature really fast.
forst of all chck her/him tempreature the observe it and if it goes up u can try sponging her/him most important part os the armpit side arm and side tights as sometime the heat always stay there due to cover up.avoid long sleeve shirt if possible.
Keep him hydrated! & absolutely trust your gut, if she's not acting like herself, go see a doctor! This site is helpful when dealing with your baby's first fever: http://www.parents.com/baby/care/american-baby-how-tos/treat-babys-first-fever/
Monitor and sponge baby as much as possible to bring down the temperature. U can also use kool fever to bring down while sponging baby. Staying in an airconditioned room helps to being down the temperature too.
mama, I will bring baby to doctor if needed but i'll try not to give her any med. i'll sponge her as much as i can add on with cooling pad. but if really gets too high, we will feed her some med and monitor again.
