What is definition of "Access" in custody related issues. I'm facing an issue and would like to understand the term of access. For example party A is granted access from 8am to 9pm. Must Party A pickup the child exactly at 8am or can be later as long it is reasonable and provide ample time. For example it is raining heavily in the morning, hence Party A told Party B that he/she cannot be there on time and it is not good to bring the child (infant) back home as it is raining heavily. Party B is insistent.

Based on my experience, access meaning party A is allowed to visit or take the child out from 8am to 9pm. It does not define that if party A comes at a later timing, party A is no longer allowed access. However, i would advise party A to give ample timing before hand to party B in order for party B to be prepare the child. If it is difficult to communicate, best to head back to court and include the fine prints and terms and conditions in black and white.
