The colic symptoms include: 1. Predictable crying episodes. A baby who has colic often cries about the same time every day, usually in the late afternoon or evening. Colic episodes may last from a few minutes to three hours or more on any given day. Your baby may have a bowel movement or pass gas near the end of the colic episode. 2. Intense or inconsolable crying. Colic crying is intense, sounds distressed and is often high pitched. Your baby's face may flush, and he or she is extremely difficult — if not impossible — to comfort. 3. Crying that occurs for no apparent reason. It's normal for babies to cry sometimes. But, crying usually means your baby needs something, such as food or a clean diaper. Crying associated with colic occurs with no clear cause. 4. Posture changes. Curled up legs, clenched fists and tensed abdominal muscles are common during colic episodes. Colic is common. It usually starts a few weeks after birth and often improves by age 3 months. By ages 4 to 5 months, the majority of babies with colic have improved. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/colic/basics/symptoms/con-20019091 You can do baby massage to relief colic pain. Also, feed infant colic drop will help to ease the pain and reduce wind in tummy. Try to avoid the remedies mentioned in this article: http://sg.theasianparent.com/pacifier-and-common-herbal-remedies-may-worsen-colic-in-babies/

In addition to what Diana has mentioned, you can try the following to help soothe your baby. Walk or rock your baby: motion helps to calm babies. Babywear your child and walk around the house. Your warmth and the rhythm may help get her to sleep. Use sound to calm your baby: sometimes, the gentle hum of a machine (fan, vacuum, white-noise machine) or playing classical music may be calming to a baby Calming your baby’s senses: sometimes, bright lights or sounds may over stimulate a baby’s senses. Try letting your baby rest in a dark and quiet room, or swaddling him/her snugly in a blanket can help prevent your baby from being overwhelmed. Every baby is different and you may need to try different methods to find one that works for yours. Thankfully, it will likely go away after three or four months. In the meantime, stay calm and all the best!! :)

Hi Roshni, Diana and Hui are correct as its very important to try each of the options mentioned until you find something that works. I personally work for Colic Calm and we of course specialize in the treatment of colic through our homeopathic gripe water remedy, but I am not here to push our product. A site that many parents should find useful and its not meant to push any specific product is http://colic.org. It covers everything from the definition, symptoms and causes to treatment options and support. Your baby has probably gotten over colic by now, but for any other parents who have the same questions maybe they will find it helpful.
