Vaccinations are important to a child’s health as they help to prevent a number of serious diseases over their life time. Studies have shown that immunizations save lives and they also help to protect other children by stopping the spread of disease. By law, there are a number of vaccinations that are compulsory for children to recieve. Diptheria must be completed before a child turns one year old whilst measles must be completed before they turn two. Vaccines against diphtheria and measles is the responsibility of the parent or guardian of the child. When a child registers for primary school in Singapore, he or she also needs to be vaccinated against a variety of infectious diseases such as BCG, pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, mumps, rubella and hepatitis B.

Also, to add on, some vaccines like the Rotavirus has a window frame. If you missed it, you can't have your baby take it. For example my son was having a fever the night before the polyclinic appointment so by the time he recovered, he has missed the time frame and didn't take the Rotavirus polyclinic. We went to a private doctor and paid much more for it. So try to have the appointment early in the window frame in case your child falls sick so you'll have ample time to rearrange for another appointment.

Here is a list of vaccines that babies have to take and the price for the respective vaccines. Most vaccines are free if you do then in polyclinic but payable if you get them done in pediatric clinics. Vaccination and baby check ups in polyclinic has a priority queue system so it's really convenient and fast. I've never waited for more than 30 mins for my appointment.
