What age did you give your kids their own mobile phone?

I'll probably give when my mum is too old to monitor or fetch them. Otherwise, if not for contacting purposes, I don't see a need to.....

p4 and p5 when both of their sch is under reno and they need to be contacted after school from the temporary school

I agree with most of you mom's...there is no need to buy or get your child a cell phone.
