Hi Dr. Jasmine, how do I know if my toddler has JUST a cough or cold, or if my toddler already has pneumonia? So far, may ubo't sipon siya pero hindi naman po nilagnat. How do you tell the difference? Ano pong symptoms ang mino-monitor?

If common colds po - usually it resolves po within a week or so but if after 3-4 days po lumalala po pakiramdam ng bata, may difficulty breathing (you can notice po from nasal flaring, bills po ng paghinga depende sa edad), chest indrawing, grunting and O2 sat of less than 95%, nilalagnat, nanghihina at matamlay po - advising po na paconsult na po aged. Common lang po malaga sa panahon ngayon ang flu - with colds and cough po as presenting symptoms. But it is very important to note po na di naman po kailangan lagi ng antibiotic para gumaling.
