Honestly, the trainee doctor thing at Clinic C is real, it is a teaching hospital, so you will likely see registrars or residents who may need to check with a senior before answering confidently, and that can feel frustrating especially when you just want a straight answer on baby's size and weight. That said, I've generally heard that most experiences are actually quite smooth overall, even if there's the occasional hiccup here and there. The trade-off is that the subsidised route saves you a lot of money, but you do give up some consistency in who you see each visit. If continuity and having someone who knows your case well really matters to you, some mums I know ended up going the private route at KKH instead, apparently Prof John Tee is quite well-regarded there, very experienced, and takes the time to reassure you which makes a big difference. So I'd say weigh up what matters more to you, cost savings with some unpredictability, or paying more for a steadier experience.
