3rd pregnancy, breastfeeding advice?

Hi , its my third pregnancy and hopefully i would like to bf as long as i can. I have 2 kids under 3 at the moment. So i will like to have a relax bf journey as i can. As much also to tackle time btwn husband, chores n kids. Advisable to latch newborn without pumping? Or atleast for the 1st month, as for my both two kids was so burntout and stress that i drop bf aft 2/3 month. TIA

Wah congrats on your third! Honestly my neighbour also had two toddlers running around when her third came and she told me the best decision she made was to just focus on latching only for the first month, no pump stress, no bottles to wash, nothing. She said her supply actually built up better because baby was directly stimulating it more consistently, so don't worry too much about that part! Someone in my mum WhatsApp group mentioned the key thing is just getting the latch checked early, like within the first few days, by a lactation consultant at KKH or TMC, so you don't suffer through weeks of bad positioning like some of us did with our first. A few mums love this approach, though one auntie in our group said she had engorgement issues without pumping at all, so maybe hand express a little if you feel too full lah. My friend also reminded me that with older kids around, you really need your husband to physically take over the two toddlers during feed times, not just "help," but actually be in charge, otherwise you'll be unlatching every five minutes and that's where the burnout comes from. You got this, third baby usually so much more chill one!

Congrats on your third! Honestly for a more relaxed journey, just latching without pumping the first month is a great idea — it's so much less hassle when you already have two little ones running around. Your supply will build naturally from the latch, and you can always introduce the pump later if you need to. You've got enough on your plate lah, so just keep it simple this time and be kind to yourself!
