toddler rejects mum

Son at home for 1 week due to suspected HFMD. Then rejects mum over night and prefers anyone else in the household. Cries, throw tamtrums whenever he sees me. Its really breaks my heart. I been the stricer one coz he well pampered by many. Could this be the possible reason ? How can i rectify this ? Experience mum, your advise please. Thank you
