Type 2 diabetes and experienced miscarriage once also got pregnant again 4 months later

Since finding out I’m pregnant again, I haven’t felt as excited as I did before. This is my third pregnancy, and I have a 5-year-old daughter. After my previous loss, I’ve been feeling very anxious and cautious. Even now at 12 weeks, I still worry about losing the baby. When I had spotting at 4 weeks, I rushed to the hospital, and whenever something doesn’t feel right, I end up going to A&E for reassurance.

I can really understand why you're feeling this way after what you've been through, and honestly, many of us who've had a loss do find the next pregnancy harder emotionally even when things are progressing well. It sounds like the anxiety is taking up a lot of your headspace right now, and that's completely valid, but it might be worth having a chat with your OB or even asking for a referral to speak with a counselor who specialises in pregnancy anxiety after loss because they can give you proper tools to manage the worry between check-ups. Your GP or KKH can point you in the right direction for that kind of support. The spotting at 4 weeks was scary, but you've made it to 12 weeks now which is a really good sign, and while I know it doesn't erase the anxiety, that's genuine progress. Try to be gentle with yourself during this time.
