Should I really wait til I'm 12 weeks before announcing my pregnancy?

I will tell my close friends, family and those who I work closely with. Often, moms choose to not reveal this good news before 12 weeks as the probability of miscarriage is the highest in the 1st trimester. However, I will choose to tell those who I work with so that they can be more careful when dealing with me.
