Should I really wait til I'm 12 weeks before announcing my pregnancy?

I would at least wait until you detect a heartbeat before publicly announcing if you can't wait. Miscarriage rates drop after a detectable heartbeat. For me, that was at 8 weeks. In my previous pregnancy, I found out at 7 weeks that I would miscarry. I ended up having an empty gestational sac, which led to me having to abort. It was very distressing and my friends' sympathies were sweet but also made it hard for me to move on faster. For this current pregnancy, I only told our families and a couple of close friends. Started telling more people as they began to notice my bump and frequent peeing and stuff, so ppl ended up knowing more quietly and naturally. I think I like it more this way!
