Think it’s a craze to send kids for phonics class. I am teaching my own son (just turned 3 in October) phonics at home. It honestly doesn't require much. Just some material prep like letter drawers with items to learn the letter sounds and then move on to moveable alphabet to make 3 letter words. Then slowly move on to digraphs which is 2-letter sounds like -ck and -sh
