Can't Afford To Attend Weddings

Random rant.. Anyone feeling guilty of consciously avoiding to attend weddings in Singapore just because of the high sum expected from ang paos?? Just feels silly and sad to me that we are looking for all affordable options for baby items like 2nd hand items for our 1st bub, but then going for 1 wedding already burns few hundreds from our pockets! Maybe only attend weddings of really really close friends and family... Then again, ppl talk and there's the guilt trip.. Sigh

I feel you. people will always think whatever they want anyway... They don’t know our situation fully. If you feel like after going you’re going to be tight on your pockets, then it’s okay to not go for those you’re not so close with. For close relatives and family, they should be able to understand your situation and not expect too much..
