Sinus infection recurring

Hi! I've heard quite a bit about this from friends who've been through it. So the general rule of thumb seems to be that if you're getting more than three or four infections a year, or they're lasting beyond three months even with antibiotics, that's when doctors usually suggest seeing an ENT specialist to figure out what's actually going on, could be structural issues, polyps, or something blocking proper drainage. From what people around me have shared, surgery (usually FESS or Balloon Sinuplasty) tends to come up when the infections keep happening despite medication, or when they're really affecting your day-to-day life. Some of my friends found it made a real difference once they sorted out the underlying cause, but others needed a bit of time to see the full benefit. That said, it's definitely worth having a proper chat with your own ENT specialist first, they can do scans and work out whether surgery is the right move for you, or if there are other things to try first. Everyone's situation is a bit different!
