Type 1 diabetes
Any parent(s) here with a type 1 diabetic child? Would like to connect as my 2 YO has been recently diagnosed with it.

Oh mama, first of all, hang in there, a diagnosis at 2 years old is a lot to process, and it is completely okay to feel overwhelmed right now. From what I have heard, there is a local Type 1 diabetes community called typeOne.sg where families can connect, and parents there have said it really helps to be around people who genuinely get the day-to-day realities, not just the medical side. My friend who has a child with Type 1 mentioned that finding other parents who could share practical tips, like managing hypos during playtime or handling meals for a toddler, made a huge difference early on, because the emotional load is just as real as the physical management. Some mums feel the peer support fills in the gaps that clinic visits cannot always cover, though of course every child's needs are a little different, so the management strategies will not be one-size-fits-all. It is definitely worth raising all of this with your child's paediatric endocrinologist too, as they would be best placed to guide you on what is appropriate specifically for a 2-year-old.
