Is it okay to make the child watch television if you have to distract him from something?

most of us end up using the good old television tactic to distract our kids, but i wouldn't really recommend it, unless absolutely necessary. i would say you could try out other ideas, such as diverting attention to any other interesting thing or activity. try using the TV as a last resort.
