Is it okay to give pets (e.g. puppies, bunnies) as party favors?

Not really. We received a gold fish as a party giveaway last Saturday and since we weren't ready for it, we weren't able to take proper care of it. Just 5 days later and it's already dead :( On the other hand though, we've attended a party where they gave away baskets and kids who wanted to take bunnies home could choose one from a makeshift pen. I think that way is better.
Read moreI always joke that giving anyone a pet is like giving the gift of added responsibility. Honestly, it's not even a joke--that's literally what you're doing. I would advise against it unless the family to whom your gifting a pet has been openly asking for a pet.
I'd go against it as well. We'll never know if a person isn't really into keeping pets. Maybe just opt for a more useful giveaway like step tool for kids, coloring books. or even edible ones like a jar of chocolate, brownies etc.
I think it's not okay because not everyone is ready for a pet. I think in some ways, it's also considered as animal abuse because most pets are being forced to grow up and be sold and they just end up dying way too soon
I suggest not to. Most of the pets are too vulnerable. I remember our friend who gave live colored chicks away on her daughter's bday party. All of the chicks died after a day or two.
I don't think all of the guests would love to have a pet to take care of hehe :)
