It's not yet New Year's Eve, but we have a big reason to make a joyful noise. Let’s shout to the world that polio outbreak is finally over in the Philippines! 🥳🥳
In September 2019, there was a resurgence of polio in the country after two decades of declaring the Philippines as polio-free. Recently, the World Health Organization and Department of Health announced that the polio outbreak in the country is over.
Polio immunization played a crucial role in ending this outbreak. Big thanks to Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV) and Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV), which fully protect kids against polio disease.
Even if the outbreak is over, let's not let our guard down. I invite fellow parents to get their children vaccinated to continuously protect our kids and our communities. Ask your doctor or health provider for more information about the polio vaccine.
