Irregular period after gave birth

Is it normal for period after giving birth to be irregular? Like 2 months after start of period back is regular then start to be irregular back etc anyone encounter same. Keep giving me pregnancy scare and i keep taking pregnancy test even when i know itll be negative. Im 4 months pp
