Hi, is it normal for my newborn BCG vaccination to look like this after 1 month?

Yes — that appearance can be normal after a BCG vaccine, especially around 3–8 weeks after the injection. What usually happens: A small red bump appears. It can turn into a pustule / blister with white or yellow center. It may ooze or crust. It heals slowly and leaves a small scar.

Yes, it is normal. Usually it will become like this and then break and will leave a small mark. Fun fact- for my brother this never broke, so as an adult his vaccine spot becomes swollen like this every time he gets sick. It’s kind of funny as he’s already 33 😅
