What reasons do you give to get HL as a KKH private patient. And when do u start asking.
My next appt I'll be 35 weeks plus. Honestly im already tired , breathless and I can't concentrate at work. Work is all about kpis deadlines. Im drained everytime I get back home. And i go to work by grab everyday. I cannot stand the peak commute timing. Pls share what do u tell ur Dr's

i was 32 weeks when told Dr Suzanna abt how i keep getting breathless, migranes where it affects my eyes nose and ears , i have sciatica & if i can get HL at 36 weeks , esp whn i work a 12 hrs shift , morning & night . my job requires me to walk & stand for very long . hence not being able to rest properly and 1 shift is enough for my body to be so sore and in pain for the next few days ; my job doesnt have an option to WFH & neither can i start ML early . Dr Suzanna said that she "sees" im still capable & dont need the HL . & if i were to insist that i need HL at 36 weeks , my employers need to give a letter of acknowledgement & approval for her to give me HL :) btw as of 35 weeks & 4 days , im 3cm dilated & going through prodomal labour .

My neighbour's gynae at KKH actually started giving her HL from 33 weeks because she had some other health issues, and she said her doctor was very proactive, kept urging her to take it! One thing to note though someone in my group warned that after 36 weeks, your company can count the HL as part of your maternity leave, so maybe check with HR on that.

My gynae always said the more specific you are the better, so mention the breathlessness, the concentration issues, and that you're taking Grab daily because commuting is too much. Most gynaes at KKH private will consider it seriously especially since you're so close to term lah, so just be upfront and ask directly at your next appointment.

Have you tried asking HR for work from home set up?
