My newborn spits out milk even after burping and carrying upright. Any idea how to help?

Went to c doc today. Doc prescribed get rid wind syrup. Guess I didn’t burp enough because child keeps pushing/lying down and wants to sleep first and for fear that more milk will be spit out if I burp soon after finishing milk. But realised have to insist to do all the burping first so that child can sleep well later and not wake up soon and be overtired next. Also, after burping, baby can fall asleep well and not wake up during diaper change movements. I also told child softly and repeatedly that I’m doing diaper change now. Will c the results again these few days.
