TSH/ hypothyroidism in newborn

My newborn just got diagnosed with hypothyroidism and needs to be on medication for 3.5 years for a start. Any mummies have similar encounter? I am quite skeptical of having my baby on long term medication but seems like there isn't a choice.

thyroid problems are quite serious, without medication condition will get worse. afraid there’s no other option.
