Aww mama, I can feel how worried you are right now, and it's totally normal, finding out you're expecting twins with one placenta is a lot to process in one scan! A few of us in my mum circle have been through monochorionic pregnancies, and honestly the second twin's heartbeat sometimes takes a bit longer to show up on early scans, especially if baby is positioned differently or the scan is early, so try not to lose hope just yet. The best thing you can do is follow up closely with your doctor or gynae, because monochorionic twins do need more careful monitoring throughout pregnancy (especially for something called twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome), but many pregnancies go smoothly when you're in good hands.
