Unfortunately, an adult can also be infected with hfmd. There is a chance that you may get it from your son. The progression of the virus is the same for children and adult. Fever will likely be the first sign so watch out for it and practice good hygiene. Best to stay home to prevent spreading the virus to others. My sister-in-law recently caught the virus from her son and it was really quite an ordeal. Her appetite was affected because eating was close to impossible because of the ulcers.
