HFMD mostly affects infants and children younger than 5 years old. However, older children and adults can get it, too. Unfortunately, an adult can also be infected with hfmd. There is a chance that you may get it from your son. The progression of the virus is the same for children and adult. Like Idza mentioned, kids' immunity are lower than adults so the chances of them getting HMFD would be high. As they also said, they isn't a specific treatment for it but getting HMFD isn't exactly just a fever & itch. Keep yourself healthy with lots of water and healthy foods and remember to put cream on your blisters and not scratch them!
