Actually, if your breasts are engorged, it's better to relieve them by getting baby to latch on or by pumping out the milk. I bought Lansinoh's therapearl hot or cold therapy gel pads, but never go around to using them. A warm towel works just as well, in my opinion. Also, do learn how to get your baby to latch on properly. You can watch videos or seek assistance from a lactation consultant.

Please pump out your milk to relieve engorgement. If baby doesn't latch on well those gel pads don't work. However if you still wish to do some hot compress you can use a hotel towel or fill a water bottle with warm water and rub over your breasts. I think you should work on getting a good latch instead. http://sg.theasianparent.com/latching-and-unlatching-during-feeds/

You can try these seven tips to ease engorgement: http://sg.theasianparent.com/treatment-of-breast-engorgement/ My colleague uses cabbage and got her husband to massage for her and these worked for her. Hope these help!
