My child (3 years old) has not pooped in 5 days and he has this habit for quite sometimes. I have tried to include more vege, high fibre foods in his daily meal and reduce milk intake. However, no improvement so far. Any recommended food @ supplement that can improve digestion?
I feel you mommy. Based on my experience with my 4 year old son, what I did is I immediately change his formula milk and give him veggies smoothies or freshly made juice for his fiber intake. And this changed the way he poops. He is not constipated anymore and a little change with the consistency of it but I think it's just normal. Please ask your pediatrician what formula would best for your kid if he is bottle fed. Also, I don't allow my child drink soda because that also cause constipation. Keep up the good work of giving him high fiber food.
Read moreHi hi, My no 1 has this problem since she was 3 years. One of the mummy recommended me "Duphalac by Abbott" (picture as attached ). You can try to feed this on a nightly basis and it will help to loosen the poop or even help to regulate their toilet frequently. So far pretty safe even infant can feed on this too. Mine has greatly improved and instead of pooping once every week...she poop once every 2 to 3 days. You may also stop for a while if the kids have improvement:)
Read moreCan consider infant massage/tuina. My son (now 2.5yo) had chronic constipation, probiotics, more fruit and veggies, yogurt and increased plain water intake all didn't help. took him to tuina once and follow up by doing ourselves at home semi-regularly. it works for him and no longer "stuck"
Have you tried introducing probiotics to your child? Yogurt might just help. There are brands in the market that are specifically made for children like Yoggi for kids. Alternatively you can try Probiotic drops for babies, which are easily available in pharmacies.

How about fresh fruits and more water intake for a more natural option? It'll be a good way to introduce fruits so he won't always rely on smoothies (with sugar contents). Try the fruits in season as well.
Try BioGaia probiotics tablets, it really help must consume longer. Last time my boy also have the same prob, after consume probiotic he feel better can go poop everyday
try juicing fresh apples. apple fruit can make your child constipated, but freshly squeezed apple juice will make him poop.
Do u wanted to try on massage his tummy every day and night. Give him water regularly every hours. Water and apples help.
Since you have increased his fiber intake, get him to drink more water to help erm "move things along". Should help. :)
