I guess you mean 5 pounds instead of 5 Kg. 5 pounds = 2kg. 2kg is quite a small size baby if your baby has reached full term (40weeks). If your baby is premature (born before 36 weeks), the weight is considered quite good already. There are many positive steps you can take to improve your baby’s chances for a healthy start: -Breastfeeding your baby is one of the best things you can do to help her grow up to be healthy. Do not feed her anything but breastmilk for the first six months of her life, not even water. -Make sure your baby has all her growth and development check-ups. This will help you and your doctor catch problems at an early stage if there are any. -Once she turns six months old and you introduce her to solid foods, a nutritious diet can help your baby to catch up on her growth. http://www.babycenter.in/a1015212/your-low-birth-weight-baby#ixzz43Xnt1UWH

5kg is definitely not an underweight baby. My friend's baby was nearly 4kg. She was exhausted during pregnancy, had a hard time giving birth and was super duper exhausted after labour. Doesn't help that she is petite
BIRTH AT WEIGHT IS 5KG?! Did you pop him naturally? BECAUSE THAT IS A HUGE BABY. My son was 4.3kg and already the nurses were exclaiming at how big he was so I can't imagine how a 5kg baby would be
Mine was 3.0 at birth. I am guessing you are referring to 5 pounds. If 5 pounds - yes that's a relatively small baby.
Normally new born baby's are around 2.30 to 4 kg and more than 3kg weights are come on healthy birth.
That is a HUGE baby. My elder son was born 3.6kg. My younger son was 2.9 kg.
wow...that is a big baby. My baby was 2.9kgs at birth.
thanks
