I think when it comes to leaving kids at playgroups, it's best not to make sure a scene at the goodbye. Before, what I did was to wait for hee to stay mingling and playing with other kids before slipping away. She didn't seem to even realized I was gone. On days that I do hug and kiss her goodbye, I realized that she gets clingy and frustrated and would ask me to stay and watch her. It also helps if your child is friendly. My daughter is such a social butterfly so it takes her less than 3 minutes to make friends. This I attribute to her many countless playgym sessions when she was younger and was able to play with other same age babies.
