Rectal bleeding

Hi mums. I had an episode of rectal bleeding earlier while passing motion. The water in the toilet bowl was red, and I panicked. I checked the source of bleeding, and am rather confident the bleeding comes from the rectum instead of the vagina. Should I be panicking?
