Common flu, cough and sore throat remedies

Hello Mummies, Does anyone have home remedies for flu, coughs, and sore throats to recommend. The meds given to me weren't to eliminate the germs, but to make me feel better. If there are any home remedies I can try instead, I'd appreciate it.
