I partially took my PD advice and listened mostly to my baby! PD said can start when his head control and hand grabbing items were good at 5 months, but I felt he couldn't sit too well + interest in food was a bit only. I started around 6 months 1 week where he was about 90% ready, only left interest in food still a bit lacking because he will look but won't open his mouth. In 1-2 days after starting solids he actually started opening his mouth for food :)

For me i listened to my baby more than others. My pd gave me the green light when he turned 6 months but my boy wasn’t ready till he’s 7 months. My hubby and I did give him some tiny spoonfuls here and there of purées though to peak his interest in trying solids out. Somehow your baby will show signs of readiness or not, and amazingly you’ll just know too 😌

I started solids with my girl when she was about 6.5 months. Didn’t follow PD’s pace ‘cause baby wasn’t showing interest in food yet - only wanted milk. When she could sit upright without much support and less slumping around, then I started her with mashed potatoes & fresh fruit purées.

Hi mama! How is his neck control? Can he hold his own weight during tummy time? If yes, then you can go ahead to expose him to solids. As long as he can sit up and hold position for sometime and have good neck control, no problem.

I started at 6m when he can sit reasonably well on a bumbo chair. gave him gerber oatmeal, which is like watery mush essentially. Didn't clear PD, just went ahead.

has he been sitting with y'all at the dining table? if he's interested in solids he will start flapping his hands and show interest in wanting to eat.

I just started solid with my bb. Bb is a few days from turning 6 months. PD asked to start 6 months but I guess a few days before 6 months is fine :)

I started when he can hold his neck well that’s by 6 months.
