Pumping In Hospital

Hello mummies, is it okay to start pumping in the hospital to increase milk output? Will it be painful if pumping when milk have not kick in? It's my second child though and most people mention milk might kick in earlier for second baby? I'm low supply for first child so I want to do what I can to up my supply for my second child. Planning to bring a hosp grade electric pump in my hospital bag.
