C section via GA procedure

Hi mummies, I've slipped disc and doctor advised not to take epidural. The chances are C section via GA. I wanted to ask if any mummies gone through it and how long after birth you woke up? I heard straight after surgery you will wake up? How long after did you manage to hold your baby after you wake up? How is the pain like after GA? Is it bearable? Still manage to move around and take care of baby? Hope to hear your experiences etc:)

love our baby girl sooooooo much!

i’m not sure about the exact timing as i can’t wear any accessories and there’s no clock in the holding area. the timing on my girl’s birth certificate is 5.40pm and i know i was back to my ward at 7.10pm. I was woken up by the nurse in the holding area after the op, the nurse brought my girl for skin on skin and BF (to stimulate milk flow), i only carry her for 5-10min. As the effect of GA lingers i didn’t take any painkillers until next night. I’m able to get down the bed the next day late afternoon after they removed the catheter.
