Feeding at 5 months

Hi Mummies. I’m having difficulties feeding my 5 month old baby. She’s on formula & has not been able to finish her usual intake. Her daily milk intake has also reduced. Anybody facing a similar situation & should I have her checked? 🤔

My baby went through something similar around 4–5 months. He suddenly started drinking less milk and would get distracted easily during feeds. In our case, it turned out to be a phase and her intake picked up again after a couple of weeks. Around this age, some babies become more aware of their surroundings, are teething, or are going through a developmental leap, which can affect feeding. I would keep an eye on her wet diapers, mood and weight gain. If she’s still having plenty of wet diapers, seems otherwise happy and is growing well, it may just be a temporary phase. Hang in there mama ❤️ Feeding struggles can be so stressful, but you’re definitely not alone!

Thanks mama for the advice ❤️ it gives me an ease of mind and I shall monitor her intake. Hopefully it’s a growth spurt & nothing more
