What I did is I avoid eating after 7pm. It really helps! If I feel hungry (when I can tahan the hunger) I will only drink water like lots of it to feel full but then frequent toilet trips at night which is better lah than keeping awake because of heartburn.
But if you cannot tahan the hunger then try to eat smaller meals. Avoid junk foods, oily foods and especially spicy foods. You can snack on some biscuits or something light if you feel hungry. And try to avoid eating 3 hrs before you sleep.
