Massage chair

Hi mummies, I’m 28 weeks pregnant and I’m curious if we could sit in a massage chair for a quick massage. Any advice?

I'd check with your OB first, as every pregnancy is different. Personally, I'd avoid a full-body massage chair unless your doctor said it's okay. If you do get the green light, I'd keep it short and use a gentle setting. I’ve used an OSIM massage chair before, and the lighter massage modes are quite comfortable, but during pregnancy it's always best to be extra cautious.

There is not enough study on the effects of using massage chairs while pregnant, but it is encouraged not to because we don't know how the vibrations can affect the baby and how certain pressure points may effect the body.

Not recommended! Some areas if massaged or "jabbed" by the massage chair may trigger reflexes at other parts of the body (example you can't do massage at the base of your feet). If you want, go for a prenatal massage!

Not recommended. Suggest you look for certified prenatal massage places, can be a little pricey (got mine at 14 sessions for $900) but safer for you and your lil one! :)

Don’t recommend as massage chair cannot customize its pressure to your pregnancy condition. Some parts cannot press too hard especially lower back area

not recommended i guess.. just wait till u give birth...

I read from somewhere they don’t recommend it.
