First Appmnt

Hello mummies. Do I really need to see doctor at 6 weeks pregnant? Can I go at 8th week instead because i want to skip vaginal ultrasound/scan (sorry I do not know what it's called) I just want to go straight to tummy ultrasound as I am actually very scared with that method. Really scared.
